V6 Modbo modchip installation diagram
One of the revisions of the fat PlayStation 2 was the V6. They were found in many of the later SCPH-3000x systems. Matching console model numbers and board numbers are listed below. V5 consoles also have the same model numbers, board revisions numbers, and installation diagrams.
You can find the model number on the sticker on the bottom of the console, and the board number is printed on the PS2 main board if you take apart your console. Note that there can be multiple board numbers within a specific model number.

Installation tips
Here are some tips I have for you when you are soldering your chip into a V6.
- Using 30 AWG solid core wire works well for most of the points.
- Use some thicker wire for the 5V and ground wires.
Example installations
This section has photos of some successful installations which you can use to get a better understanding of how everything is wired and positioned. Leave a comment and I’ll add your installation to the list

This diagram says its for V5, are V5 and V6 the same set up?
Yes
Hello
Thanks for instructions!
succesfully installed modbo 5 on my SCPH-30004R (GH-015)
I have a spch-3009 it is pal,but it has a gh-015 board?,ive installed a modbo5,it boots to the infinity screen then gives a continuos beep with just a screen full of color bars!,any ideas, also on ps2 website there install diagram differs from yours,in so mutch as the ‘y’ is 2 pads to the left of yours, what one is correct?
Y is only used for booting DVD video media (not games) so it wouldn’t be the cause of your issues.
